Born in Palampur, Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh, in the lap of the Dhauladhar range, Vicky Rajput’s journey has been shaped by struggle, perseverance, and continuous learning.

From a young age, he began contributing to his family’s responsibilities. Despite difficult financial circumstances, he continued his education and completed his graduation. As a child, he dreamed of becoming a cricketer and later pursued his ambition of joining the Indian Army. Although he came close to achieving his goal several times, he was unable to clear the final stage of the selection process. These setbacks did not stop him; instead, they encouraged him to find a new direction in life.

Vicky then worked in the hotel industry for several years, where he gained valuable insight into the tourism sector. Over time, he began working with travellers across the Himalayan region and travelled through destinations such as Spiti, Kaza, Lahaul, Leh-Ladakh, Shimla, Manali, Dharamshala, Dalhousie, Srinagar, and Kargil.

From driving vehicles and managing transportation to understanding travel planning, accommodation, challenging mountain routes, and travellers’ needs—every journey brought new experiences and valuable lessons. He learned tourism not simply as a business, but through years of hands-on experience at the ground level.

These years of experience, combined with his deep connection with the Himalayas, eventually inspired him to establish his own travel company. This vision led to the foundation of HIMDHAAR TOUR & TRAVELS.

‘HIM’ represents the Himalayas, while ‘DHAAR’ symbolizes a continuously flowing stream that keeps moving forward despite the obstacles along its path. The name reflects not only his connection with the mountains but also his journey of perseverance and determination.

In 2026, HIMDHAAR TOUR & TRAVELS was established with a clear vision—to create travel experiences where travellers do more than simply visit destinations; they experience the nature, culture, and authentic spirit of the Himalayas.

For us, travel is more than a business. It is a way of sharing the routes, experiences, and stories that we have personally lived and understood.
